Support
Quessia is a focus and app blocker for iPhone and Android. It puts a calm shield on the apps that pull you away, lets finished focus sessions earn short passes (Study to unlock), and lets you take a short pass when you really need an app. It is free to use, has no ads and needs no account.
Please include your iPhone model, iOS version and a short description of the problem. We usually reply within 1 to 2 business days.
Frequently asked questions
The answers below are written for iPhone. On Android, Quessia uses an accessibility service instead of Screen Time: turn it on or off in Android Settings, Accessibility, and see the Android privacy policy for exactly what it reads.
Why does Quessia ask for Screen Time access?
Blocking apps on iPhone is only possible through Apple's Screen Time technology, so Quessia needs your permission to use it. You approve it with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. You then pick the apps, categories and websites to block with Apple's own picker. Apple keeps that list private: Quessia cannot read the app names, and nothing from Screen Time is collected by us or sent off your iPhone. See the Privacy Policy.
I denied the permission or want to change it
Open iOS Settings, go to Screen Time and check that Quessia is allowed there. If Quessia still shows that Screen Time access is off, open the app and tap the button on the Home screen to turn it back on.
Can I turn Quessia off?
Yes. Quessia works through iOS Screen Time, so you can always switch it off in iOS Settings. Strict is a stronger commitment inside the app, not a lock that iOS lets any app enforce. You can also pause or delete a rule in Quessia at any time (except while a strict rule or session is running).
How do passes work?
When you open a blocked app, Quessia shows a calm screen. If your rule allows it, you can ask for a short pass: you take a short breathing pause, tap a one-tap reason, and then the app opens for the pass length you picked. A pass has a daily limit. When it ends, the app is shielded again. Rules set to Strict do not offer passes.
What is Study to unlock?
With Study to unlock, every finished focus session earns minutes (for example, every 3 focus minutes earn 1 minute, up to 60 earned minutes a day, expiring after 7 days). You can spend earned minutes as a pass on an app that a normal rule blocks. A session you stop early earns nothing.
How do I cancel my Quessia Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Quessia and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also do this in the App Store: tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, otherwise it renews automatically. After cancelling you keep Pro until the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Quessia, open the Quessia Pro screen (from Settings, or by tapping any Pro feature) and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. This also works on a new iPhone, and for the one-time lifetime purchase.
I was charged and need a refund
Apple handles payments and refunds. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or write to us and we will help.
Does Quessia collect my data?
No. Your rules, sessions and statistics stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no analytics and no ads. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
